A Bit About Me

Hi, I’m Dr. Mark Bennett – founder of this blog and your trusted guide on everything related to dog and cat nutrition, treats, and wellness.
As a former licensed veterinarian with over 15 years of hands-on experience in canine and feline health, I’ve dedicated my life to helping pets thrive through the power of proper nutrition. From my early clinical days treating sick animals to working alongside nutritionists, breeders, and behaviorists, I saw firsthand how the right food could completely transform a pet’s health, behavior, and longevity.
But my journey didn’t stop at the clinic. I’ve spent more than a decade training and breeding large working dog breeds, including German Shepherds, Belgian Malinois, and Labrador Retrievers. Running large-scale kennels and training programs across the U.S. gave me deep insight into how diet, temperament, and training go hand-in-hand.
This blog is where I bring it all together.
Here, I share real-world experience, vet-level advice, product reviews, feeding guides, and honest recommendations to help fellow pet parents make better decisions. Whether you’re looking for the best food for a picky senior cat, the right diet for a high-energy German Shepherd, or healthy homemade treat ideas, you’ll find it here—backed by science, and proven in practice.
I created this space to go beyond what’s written on dog food labels or flashy marketing claims. You’ll find practical, field-tested advice designed to help your pets live longer, happier lives.
When I’m not writing or testing new recipes with my own dogs, I’m hiking, consulting for rescue organizations, or answering questions from awesome readers like you.

Warmly,
Dr. Mark Bennett
